Rivals Steakhouse in Austin, Texas bustled with people last weekend (March 8-9), as Engage Digital hosted its 2nd annual Tech Career Expo. The massively successful event brought in 48 recruiting tech companies – selling out the show floor – looking to fill 2,600 open positions.

The event drew in over 2,400 onsite job seekers and 4,100 online registered job seekers. Information from all online registered job seekers has been forwarded to all recruiting companies in order to maximize connections and facilitate great hiring.

Those who made it out to the event enjoyed an unmatched opportunity to meet and network with employers and talented professionals from across the nation, all in one central location during Interactive Week. We were not affiliated with Interactive Week this year, so no badge was required to attend.

Friday and Saturday we held our 2nd annual Tech Career Expo Austin during Interactive Week. The event was a fantastic success with more than 2,400 attendees (and more than 4,100 online registrations) and 48 recruiting companies. Below is a video walkthrough of the event.

With less than 48 hours before the show we thought it best to share with you some last minute show details:

– We are not affiliated with Interactive Week, so no badge or ticket is needed to attend.

– The event takes 11am to 5pm, Friday and Saturday, March 8-9, 2013 at Rivals Steakhouse, on the corner of 5th street and Trinity Street, one block from the Austin Convention Center. It’s a very short walk (1 minute) so you can get to the show and then move on to your next activity.

– If you have any travel related questions (directions, parking, etc, please visit our travel page).

– Dress is casual.

– Positions range from development, design and engineering to management, marketing and sales.

– Participating companies range from public companies and established firms to early stage startups.

– Open positions are located in Austin, Denver, Boston, Silicon Valley, Portland, Paris, Berlin and many more cities all over the U.S. and the world.

The Tech Career Expo provides employers the opportunity to recruit top talent from across the nation and around the world and gives jobseekers exposure to the most innovative technology opportunities in a casual and creative atmosphere. With a new year comes new changes, and if for you that means a new career in the tech industry, then polish up that resume because the Tech Career Expo is just two months away. So far, more than half of our exhibiting companies listed experience with Java as one of the most sought after skills in a job candidate.  After Java, a large majority of our companies are looking for people who know their way around Ruby on Rails, Python and Linux. Our exhibiting companies are also hoping to find people with experience in software engineering, iOS and mobile development, HTML and CSS. What’s more, this first round of exhibiting companies have a total estimate of more than 1,100 positions to fill.
